Three Double Tons - Which one is the best ?

It was November 2 - still one more day for Diwali - but, every Indian, whether sitting in M. Chinnaswamy or in their homes - glued to their TV screens, were watching the fireworks showering and thundering in and around the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

It was the last ODI (One Day International) of 7 match India vs Australia Star Sports Cricket Series and both the teams were 2-2 in the series before the match. India was batting first and then came a magnificent double ton knock (209) from Rohit Sharma. It was, only the third ODI double century and interestingly, all three by Indians. India ultimately claimed 57-run victory in match and eventually won the series title despite some heroics by James Faulkner.

Other two double ton knocks - first one from The Little Master Sachin Tendulkar and second one from Multan ke Sultan Virendra Sehwag.

On 24th February 2010 at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Sachin became the first batsman on the planet to get the elusive double hundred in an ODI against South Africa. Sachin Scored 200 (not out) in 147 Balls.

Then, On 8th December 2011 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Sehwag scored 219 in 149 balls against West Indies.

Virendra Sehwag c sub (A Martin) b Pollard 219 208 149 25 7 146.97
Rohit Sharma c sub (MC Henriques) b McKay 209 222 158 12 16 132.27

Runs scored in Boundaries and Sixes :

Sachin Tendulkar 200 118 59.00
Virendra Sehwag 219 142 64.84
Rohit Sharma 209 144 68.89

Analysis of dot balls faced :

Player Balls Faced Dot Balls Percentage
Sachin Tendulkar 147 47 31.97
Virendra Sehwag 149 42 28.18
Rohit Sharma 158 71 44.93

Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma achived their double ton feat in last over - Sachin in 49.3 and Rohit in 49.1 Overs. Virendra Sehwag achived the feat in 43.3 Overs. And, best part about all three double tons is India won the match and the series as well. One more thing to note is, All three were opening for India in the match and scored double hundreds.

So, this is it guys, these are the details and finally, it is very difficult say which one is best. So, I can only say, all the three innings are best in their place and none of them is better than other.
